  Description

  I’m Matías, and I live in the countryside with my two dogs, Apolo and Jesús. After leaving city life behind, I’ve embraced a slower and more mindful way of living: we grow some of our own food, take care of the garden, and enjoy the natural rhythm of life.
  
  Our home is located just 30 minutes from Puerto Varas, in a beautiful and peaceful place with views of the Osorno Volcano. We are surrounded by iconic destinations such as the Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes, the Petrohué Waterfalls, Lake Todos los Santos, Puerto Octay, Frutillar, nearby beaches, and much more.
  
  Here, nature takes center stage. The views are breathtaking, the air is pure, and life flows at its own pace. We also manage several summer rental houses, where we prepare each space and personally welcome our guests, making sure their stay is comfortable and enjoyable.

  I love opening my home to people from different cultures because I believe every encounter is a unique opportunity to learn and grow together. For me, sharing everyday life is the most authentic way to get to know a place: speaking different languages, exchanging traditions, and discovering what connects us beyond our differences. We want your stay to be much more than just accommodation. I hope you feel part of our daily life, whether it's cooking and sharing a meal, exploring the city, or participating in the moments that arise naturally during your stay, such as birthdays, family gatherings, get-togethers with friends, or local events. My intention is not just for you to see our culture from the outside, but to truly experience it from within: with warmth, authenticity, and genuine affection. It will be a pleasure for me to share this experience with you and, at the same time, learn from you and everything you bring with you from your own history and culture.

  I'm looking for help with the upkeep of the house and the surrounding countryside. I need help with:
  • Maintaining the gardens and keeping them beautiful.
  • Keeping the house in order.
  • Cleaning and organizing the summer rentals, greeting guests and handing over the keys, as well as collecting them when their stay is over.
  • Creating and tending a vegetable garden together.
  • Helping with the dogs, giving them love and attention.

  Accommodation

  Workaway participants will have a private bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom, for their exclusive use and that of house guests, is located in the hallway. They will also have access to the different areas of the house and will have two bicycles at their disposal to explore and discover nearby tourist attractions. We will prepare meals together, creating a wonderful opportunity to share and learn about our respective culinary cultures. Collaboration and keeping the house clean are important, and if there are more than two Workaway participants, a futon bed is available.

  I'm a vegetarian and I love sharing this lifestyle with our guests. My dogs are part of the family; they're very affectionate and sleep inside the house, in the living room.
