Description
We are a family with four children (ages 10, 12, 14, and 18) living on a beautiful 4.5-hectare finca nestled between Lanjarón and Órgiva, in the heart of the Alpujarras.
Our land is home to olive, almond, kaki, and fig trees, a spring-fed alberca (natural pool), and wide-open views that make you forget what day it is (in the best possible way). We live simply and close to nature, in low-impact dwellings such as yurts, wooden huts, bell tents, caravans, and campers.
Winter here is quiet, slow, and intimate — a contrast to the rest of the year when retreats and visitors bring more movement. This makes our place especially suited to someone (or a couple) seeking stillness, nature, and a genuine digital detox.
🌱 What We’re Looking For
We’re happy to welcome responsible, self-sufficient individuals who resonate with conscious, land-based living and enjoy contributing in practical ways.
Help is mainly needed with:
-Land maintenance and care of olive trees
-Odd jobs and general upkeep
-Carpentry and hands-on projects
-Support with family organisation
⏰ Hours & Exchange
-15 hours per week in exchange for accommodation
-Volunteers provide their own food
-We offer a weekly trip to town for shopping
👉 Alternative option:
If you can also help with cooking weekday lunch meals for the children, we can offer a 20-hour/week exchange, with lunch included on weekdays.
🌿 Our Lifestyle & Values
We value healthy, conscious living and ask that anyone staying with us respects the following:
✅ Strictly vegetarian (no meat or fish)
✅ No coffee, sugar, alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or marijuana
✅ Non-smoking land
Please do not bring restricted foods or substances onto the property.
🛖 Practical Living Conditions
🌿 Outdoor living – communal outdoor kitchen, compost toilets, hot-water outdoor showers
🔋 Limited solar energy – phone/tablet charging available, rechargeable lamps provided
🚫 No WiFi – but excellent mobile coverage
It’s simple, grounded living — stars overhead included ✨
🐾 Please Note
-We cannot accommodate smokers
-We cannot host dogs

Help
We are looking for practical, hands-on help with land maintenance, caring for olive trees, odd tasks, light carpentry, and general upkeep of the finca, as well as some support with family organisation. Accommodation
yurt, cabin or caravan depending on availability

What else ...
We usually only go out once a week to the local market in Orgiva, and the two closest towns of Orgiva and Lanjaron are about 1-1.5 hours walking distance away. It is fairly easy to hitchike. Free days can be used to explore the neighbouring mountains (our land lies beneath the GR7 walking path), take a trip to Granada (1 hour bus ride) or the beach (1 hour car journey). There are also a few communities in the area and many interesting people.
